Ellis County company receives top honor for workplace safety

An employer in Ellis County has been awarded Texas Mutual Insurance Company’s top honor for workplace safety. Texas Mutual, the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation, recognized this company for its prevention of losses connected with workers’ compensation claims.
The honoree from the Ellis County area is:
Lone Star Railroad Contractors—a leading railroad maintenance and construction contractor
To qualify for this honor, a company must demonstrate its commitment to safety by carrying out an exemplary safety program and controlling workers’ compensation
losses.
“On-the-job injuries carry monetary and, more importantly, human costs,” said Ron Wright, president of Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
“Part of our company mission is to promote workplace safety and educate employers about safe work practices, but it’s up to each company to implement safety policies.
These honorees exemplify a commitment to workplace safety and the safety education of their employees.”
This year, 198 safety awards were distributed to qualifying policyholders.
Seven of this year’s honorees mark their 10th or more consecutive year without a workers’ compensation claim.
