Mosley appointed new CVB director
WAXAHACHIE - The city of Waxahachie has appointed Laurie Mosley as the Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
Mosley was the unanimous selection following interviews with city management and the Waxahachie Community Development Corporation, which oversees the city’s Civic Center and Sports Complex facilities and provides direction to the CVB.
She is scheduled to begin work on Monday, Nov. 7.
Mosley, a 1993 Ferris High School Grad, served as the CVB Director from 2001-2008, and most recently worked for KBEC radio and Southwest Festivals.
“We feel that Laurie’s previous experience as the CVB Director for seven years, as well as her other experience in the community would be a tremendous asset to the city,” said City Manager Paul Stevens.
As CVB Director, Mosley will office at the Waxahachie Civic Center, and her responsibilities will include marketing Waxahachie as a destination for conventions, corporate meetings, business and leisure travel, sporting events, tours and other events.
The CVB director reports to the city manager.
“Our city is growing, and there are many opportunities to grow our tourism and convention business locally, and Laurie is a great fit to help Waxahachie achieve success in that respect,” said Stevens.
