Area mansion to host charity event
WAXAHACHIE - Are you a fan of the popular 60s sitcom The Munsters?
Then you might want to mark your calendar for “The Munster Charity Event” held Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 p.m. until midnight benefitting the Ellis County SPCA.
“We are big animal lovers,” Sandra McKee, AKA Lily Munster during the event.
“Also a good friend has helped us so much through the years and he is on the SPCA board and we wanted to do something for him.”
Mckee and her husband, Charles, AKA Herman Munster, have been huge fans of the show for years and one day, they got to see their dream become a reality.
They were able to build a replica of the well known mansion featured each episode on some property in Waxahachie.
A private residence, the mansion is only open to the public once a year during the couples charity event each October for public tours.
Pat Priest, who played Marilyn Munster on the show, will be available both evenings for meet and greets and autographs.
A fortune teller, live music, fire performer and more will also be part of the festivities.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under with the money donated to the SPCA of Ellis County.
Park at the 7th Grade Center on 2401 Brown Street and a shuttle will be able to take you to and from the event.
