The International Museum of Cultures, 7500 W. Camp Wisdom, Dallas, will celebrate Smithsonian Museum Day with an afternoon of art and culture. The Sabrina Blanco Art Exhibit will open at 12 noon on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Sabrina was born in Venezuela and began her art studies at age 10 under the tutelage of Cristobal Rojas.
She has exhibited internationally.
Her creative work includes impressions on canvas with poetry and spiritual richness about the woman’s role in modern society.
Her works are abstract in composition, realistic in form, and surreal in content.
At 2 p.m. Carlos Lamelas, a Cuban Refugee, recently relocated to the Dallas area, will present a lecture accompanied with a photo tour of Cuba Then and Now.
Rev. Lamelas was imprisoned for his efforts to bring greater religious freedom in Cuba. His release was a result of efforts by the Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
