Black Chamber celebrates new location opening

“Are you excited?” The three words repeated by visitor and tourism chair Denise Banks echoed through the person-filled room, each waiting for his or her turn to introduce themselves and be introduced to the multitude of aspiring entrepreneurs and well-rounded professionals attending the Greater Southwest Black Chamber of Commerce new location celebration Friday, Aug. 26.
Those in attendance were able to be encouraged by and connected to people who with them shared common goals and backgrounds --- a perfect recipe for working together toward change.
Amongst us were a number of key community faces such as Murray Richter of Options Realty, Scarlett Mihailov of Telco Federal Credit Union, City of Dallas Buyer III Shellia Crawford, Mr. John Battle of JBA Landscaping Maintenance, Mrs. Janet Harris of the Duncanville City Council, Branch Manager Jessica Williams of Lancaster’s Neighborhood Credit Union, Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce President Horace Satisfield to name a few.
From giveaways to the sharing of pertinent information such as NCTRCA, HUB, M/WBE certification to Procurement Biddings, RFP, RFQ’s. Any visitor to Friday’s GSWBCC new location celebration could say this one day has made a significant difference in their lives.
We at the GSWBCC resolve to say that if this one day sparked change in someone’s life, then wait until that person sees what we do in the future.
We have many more amazing things to do in the Southwestern communities of Dallas, and we encourage you to join the journey. As we grow, we look forward to continuing to educating, developing and enhancing the economic status of the greater southwest.
We are truly going to high places, and our most valuable possession is our willingness to bring others with us.
If you did not hear it from anyone else, you heard it directly from us.
