6th annual Oktoberfest to be held
LANCASTER - Friday, Oct.7, the Sixth Annual Lancaster Oktoberfest begins with the Patron Party featuring delicious German food and beer, root beer on tap and custom-blended wines where Mayor Marcus Knight leads the procession into the “Bier Garten” and taps the first keg.
Tickets are available for $40 on-line or $45 at the door. Live entertainment by Shirley Johnson, accordionist and singer, will keep your toes tapping and have you joining in the chicken dance.
A Silent Auction of eclectic items and gifts donated by the Lancaster Historical Society members will also be held.
Saturday, Oct. 8, a free city-wide Oktoberfest will be held in coordination with Lancaster Chamber’s 2nd Saturday on the Square.
Many vendors featuring lots of food, arts and crafts will be on hand as well as several stages of live music, Bavarian dancers and children’s activities.
On Monday, Oct. 10, the final day of the festival features the Chamber of Commerce Annual Duffers Derby.
