SMU announces May 2011 graduates

local students were awarded degrees during Southern Methodist University’s May 2011 Commencement ceremonies.
Erik Burgos-Soto, a resident of Red Oak, received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.
Lindsay Guynes, a resident of Red Oak, received a Master of Business Administration in management, and strategy & entrepreneurship.
Lauren Hadaway, a resident of Red Oak, received a Bachelor of Arts in cinema-television.
Rachel Washington, a resident of Ovilla, received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
Jana Donahoo, a resident of Midlothian, received a Bachelor of Music in music education.
Justin Nichols, a resident of Midlothian, received a Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical engineering.
Darrell Roberts, a resident of Midlothian, received a Master of Business Administration in finance, and information technologies & operations mgmt.
Scott Thomas, a resident of Midlothian, received a Juris Doctor in law.
After the University-wide Commencement, SMU’s schools and departments held individual ceremonies throughout the day to honor graduates.
SMU is a nationally ranked private university in Dallas founded 100 years ago.
Today, SMU enrolls nearly 11,000 students who benefit from the academic opportunities and international reach of seven degree-granting schools.
