Serving Country: Felix N. Basweti

WAXAHACHIE - Army Reserve Spec. Felix N. Basweti has been mobilized and activated at Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J., in preparation for deployment overseas to serve in support of Operation New Dawn.

Operation New Dawn transitions and signifies a formal end to U.S. military combat operations in Iraq. The transition shifts the U.S. emphasis from predominantly military to predominately civilian as the U.S. officials assist Iraqis in accordance with the Strategic Framework Agreement.

The specialist, a fire control repairer, is a member of the 238th Maintenance Company, based out of San Antonio, Texas. Basweti has served in

the military for three years.

He is the cousin of Nelson O. Malko of Waxahachie.
