Library to hold lecture on the history of clocks

LANCASTER– The Lancaster Veterans Memorial Library will present a lecture on the history of time keeping devices Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.

Fred Tischler, a horological expert from the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors’ Lone Star Chapter 124 will be the speaker.

The discussion will feature some of the antique clocks that have been on display in the library since early December.

Tischler will discuss water clocks, incense timepieces, sun dials and mechanical clocks from Europe, Asia and the United States.

This program is free and open to the public.

The library is located at 1600 Veterans Memorial Parkway, in the Lancaster Community Park
