Meals-on-Wheels plans for annual benefit
ELLIS COUNTY - Set for Thursday, Sept. 16 at Cleburne Golf Links, Meals-on-Wheels is ready for its 23rd Annual Golf Benefit. This event is one of the largest in the area with more than 250 golfers and many volunteers participating. Bringing in more than $75,000, the Golf Benefit proceeds directly support Meals-on-Wheels services.
"Although our field is full, it is not too late to get your Raffle tickets, or volunteer at the event," said Amy Jackson, director of development for Meals-on-Wheels. Raffle tickets may be purchased online at www.servingthechildre nofyesterday.org through Wednesday, and will also be available at the event on Thursday.
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Prizes include round trip airfare anywhere Southwest flies, sporting event tickets including Dallas Cowboys and Rangers, restaurant, travel and wonderful gift packages! A total of $6,500 in prizes will be given away, in addition to the $5,000 available to the golfers playing.
