MISD: School rated best financial Web site
MIDLOTHIAN - Midlothian Independent School District has earned a Gold Leadership Circle Award for the district’s Web site by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Susan Combs.
Earning a perfect score of 15 points out of 15 on the ratings, Comb’s office is awarding local governments who provide clear and consistent information in a user-friendly format, allowing taxpayers easy access to financial information.
"Midlothian ISD is honored to accept the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle’s Gold designation - the highest designation for financial transparency online," said Superintendent Dr. Jerome Stewart.
Local governments receiving a gold, silver or bronze Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle award have opened their books to the public and provide clear, consistent pictures of spending with detailed information on how tax dollars are allocated and spent.
MISD makes budgetary information, check registers, the annual financial report and supporting financial data available on their finance Web page at www.midlothian-isd.net/administration/finance.html.
"The fact that participation in this program is voluntary makes this designation even more meaningful," said Stewart.
