Illegal immigrant arrested, intent to deliver drugs

FERRIS – An illegal immigrant from Mexico was arrested for possession with intent to deliver a penalty two controlled substance Thursday, July 29.

Ferris Police Officer Mike Fruin and backup Officer Walter Weiss stopped a vehicle traveling north bound on Interstate Highway 45 for what was initially, a traffic violation.

Ultimately, the officers the 36-year-old white Hispanic male to be in possession of a large amount of illegal drugs and cash.

Pedro Galvan-Flores, a citizen of Mexico, gave a current address in Dallas and was arrested on the spot.

More than three ounces of methamphetamine, commonly called ice, were seized with an estimated street value of $9,200.

According to Interim Chief of Police Sam Love, $25,000 of illegal money acquired from the sale of drugs was seized from the vehicle as well.

Flores was arraginded by Ferris Municipal Judge Sue Schmidt Friday, July 30 with bond set at $500,000.
