More than $1 million worth of marijuana found

ENNIS - More than $1 million dollars worth of marijuana was found by Ellis County Sheriff deputies. During a search for a suspicious person Monday, July 12, off Ensign and Brazier Road, deputies observed several marijuana plants growing in a field. In excess of 2,400 plants were pulled from two different locations with a potential street value of more than $1,245,000 had they reached maturity.
