ECP takes top honors

SAN ANTONIO – The Ellis County Press took home a total of six awards during the annual Texas Press Association Better Newspaper Contest Saturday, June 19.

"I am very proud ,"said Publisher Charles D. Hatfield Jr.

"My staff did a fantastic job this past year and they work very hard to make sure the paper meets only the highest standards in quality news."

1^st place in General Excellence for a Weekly: Excellent editorial pages, court/arrest reports and front page, although six ads on front do distract. Bold, strong, local press-a damn good newspaper.
