Bond Oversight Committee to hold final meeting

ELLIS COUNTY -  With grand-opening ceremonies behind for the new county and city facilities in downtown Waxahachie  and move-in slated for completion by mid-June, the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee has set June 21 as the new date for its final meeting.

The date announced last month conflicted with the regularly scheduled meeting of the commissioners’ court.

“We will get the committee together one more time, to show them the finished facilities, and to thank them for their work over the last three years,” said County Engineer Joe White.

The committee will receive their final report from White and Jones Lang LaSalle Vice President Jon Vidaurri beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Situated on Jackson Street between Main and Jefferson, Ellis County’s new courts and administration building and the City of Waxahachie’s new public parking garage were funded by bonds approved by voters in May of 2007.

Members of the committee are Roy Orr (Chair), Cathy Altman, Cheree Barrett, Jimmy Boon, Larry Burns, Ken Chambers, Scott Jackson, John Knight, Bill Lewis, James Moon, Charlie Morton, Albert Garcia Sr., John Tabor, John Wyckoff, and Doug Young.
