Memorial tournament to be held this weekend

FERRIS – "One Love Tournament," a men’s softball tournament to be held in honor of Steven Taylor will be hosted by the Waxahachie Spo-rts Complex on Saturday, May 22.
Taylor was killed March 23 of last year in his Ferris home on South Church Street.
Police are still currently investigating many leads according to Ferris Police Chief Frank Mooney and Investigator Sam Love.
Chris Batts, Taylor’s sister, wants everyone to know her brother just celebrated his first birthday in Heaven and she wants everyone to remember how incredible a person Taylor was. "This tournament is to gather friends, family and those who love the game for a day to honor remembrance of a man whose overall love in life was to play this game," said Batts.
"He loved big, played hard and gave all he had to everyone who ever met and knew him."
Deadline to register is Wednesday, May 19.
Entry fee is $200 per team to be paid by cash, money order or cashier’s check- no personal checks allowed.

All proceeds from the fund-raiser will go towards an educational scholarship for the memory of Taylor to live on forever according to Batts.
