Waxahachie – A Confederate Monument Dedication was held on Saturday, May 15 at the Bethel Cemetery to honor 1st Lt. Milton Alford Beard of the Confederate State of America who lived from 1834 – 1914.

This dedication was put together by Tom Coppock, head of the O.M. Roberts camp 178, which honors all veteran’s from every American war.

The Son’s of the Confederate group are direct decedents of Confederate War Soldiers who fought for our country in the 19th century.

The search for this rare gravesite began years ago in an attempt to connect Beard’s family with their esteemed ancestors.

The O.M. Roberts camp 178 meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. For more information visit their Web site at www.omroberts camp.com.
