City plans to annex 57 properties

WILMER - The latest council meeting resulted in the council approving a public hearing on May 20 for 57 properties the city wants to annex into their jurisdiction.
Councilwoman Vicky Vandygriff made the motion to call for a public hearing and directing the city staff to prepare a service plan and a developers agreement for the properties listed in the annexation proceedings.
Council voted unanimously for the motion to pass.
While a brief meeting, the council did hire three new staff members during closed session.
Matthew Wagner, firefighter, Cindy Pontley and Tayde Alcarez as police dispatcher.
