DESOTO - Saturday, Jan. 30, the city of Desoto will host a town hall meeting open to every resident who is curious about public transportation within the city.

The city council has been posting questions seeking citizens input on the city’s Web site including :

1. Do you believe there is a need for some kind of public transportation in DeSoto?

2. If there is a need for public transportation, what form should it take?

3. Would you be willing to pay for public transportation in increased property taxes?

These questions and more will be discussed at the Town Hall Meeting in the council chambers of DeSoto city hall at 9 a.m. over donuts and coffee.

If you’re unable to attend the meeting you can still log onto the city’s blog at http://blog.desototexas.com and post your thoughts. According to the city, all comments received will be documented and used by the city council to make decisions about DeSoto’s future.

If you would like to speak to a city councilmember call 972-230-9648.
