Proclamation honors Judge Jackie Miller Jr.

WAXAHACHIE – During a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Jan.25, Ellis County Commissioners Court issued a proclamation in support of Ellis County Justice of the Peace Jackie Miller, Jr. and his nomination for the Texas Association of Counties 2010-2011 Leadership Class. Judge Miller was recognized for his continued service to the people of the county and Precinct 2.
"He is an official who represents his constituency with his whole heart," said Precinct 3 Commissioner Heath Sims.
"He is always the first to step up and fill in for other courts when needed."
"I would like to thank the court and the citizens," said Judge Miller.
"It is an honor to represent Ellis County and I appreciate your support."
The court authorized approval of a marketing agreement with Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc. for the provision of a discount card program for prescriptions and imaging and laboratory services.
The Coast2Coast Rx Card program offers discounts to all county residents with no eligibility requirements and at no cost to the citizens or the county.
The program will pay a royalty to the county based on the use of the cards.
"In these hard economic times it is really nice to be able to offer the citizens an additional way to save, especially on something as important as their familys prescriptions," said County Judge Carol Bush.
In other business, commissioners:
• Accepted payment of $45,180.34 for precinct 2 and $75,115.88 for precinct 3 from Willbros Construction for damage to roads during construction of ETC Texas Independence Pipeline
• Took no action to determine the time and method for the Ellis County Emergency Service District Boards to do their annual financial reporting
• Approved replat of Flying "W" Estates, Units IV & V, Blk. E, lot 2 in precinct 3
• Authorized the county judge to sign all legal documents and/or authorize the Ellis County Attorney to initiate necessary action to sell property located at 110 North Dallas Street in Ennis.
