CEDAR HILL – The Longhorns baseball team will start their high school season with $10,000 worth of new gear, thanks to a donation by the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team.

The Rangers, headquartered in Arlington where they also play at Rangers Ballpark, sent the $10,000 check after news broke last week that vandals damaged the baseball fieldhouse and stole thousands of dollars worth of high-priced bats, gloves and other equipment.

The Cedar Hill Police Department has not made any arrests in the thefts, but with the new baseball gear, the Longhorns will be ready to play their first game next month.
