3.6 Pursuant to Local Government Code Sec 263.151 (2), consideration and action to declare 1200 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 800 rounds of 357 sig. ammunition and 8700 rounds of 45 acp ammunition as surplus and, pursuant to LGC Sec. 263.152 (1) to offer these rounds as trade-in through BULOT Company LLC for new property of the same general type in the best interest of the county. This surplus ammunition is designed for training/duty use and of the wrong caliber for our present weapons.

3.7 Consideration and action to authorize Emergency Management to apply for a State Homeland Security grant which will allow the county to renew a contract with Emergency Communications Network to provide the CodeRed Emergency Notification Warning System that will provide emergency warning to county residents via telephone or cellphone.

5.1 To declare the following books as surplus so they may be sold on an online auction through GovDeals.gov.: 7 books – Thomson West’s Texas Jurisprudence 3d; 6 books - Lexis Nexis Texas Criminal Practice; 31 books - Thomson West’s Vernon’s Texas Rules Civil; 1 book – The Michie Company Sexual Assault Trials; 1 book – Thomson West’s Vernon’s Texas Rules Civil; and 5 books – Thomson West’s Vernon’s Texas Codes Annotated.

“The Commissioners’ Court of Ellis County reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed in this agenda, in the order deemed appropriate, as authorized by Texas Government Code §551.072, or to seek the advice of its attorney and/or other attorneys representing Ellis County on any matter in which the duty of the attorney to the -Commissioners’ Court under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Texas Government Code Chapter 551 or as otherwise may be permitted under §551.072.”
7.1 Pursuant to Section 551.072 of the Government Code, consultation with counsel regarding the possible sale or lease of real property “if deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governmental body in negotiations with a third person”.
