GOP races shape up - 7 Libertarians, 1 Democrat file

FERRIS – In Ellis County, March 2 is the election.
With the 2008 presidential race garnering 70 percent of the GOP vote, only one Democrat filed by the Jan. 4 deadline.
The rest of Ellis County will see a slew of Republicans and a record number of Libertarian Party candidates.
Libertarians compete in conventions on March 13 and 20, but Republicans after March 2 will face general election competition from third party candidates.
