DALLAS DISTRICT – Once again, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is expecting inclement winter weather beginning Tuesday afternoon. To stay tuned to weather events you may go online to NOAA.gov for the latest weather developments in your area.

TxDOT crews in all seven counties in our district are prepared – alert, and following protocol on preparations for any inclement weather event. Equipment is being serviced, weather conditions are being monitored and crews are on standby to begin 12 hour shifts once conditions warrant it.

Approximately 89 drivers throughout the district will work 12 hour shifts until the snow/ice event is over. Our full crew of at least 176 other TxDOT personnel will also be working during the operation to support our drivers. 135 trucks and dump trucks are used throughout the district to spread liquid pre-treatment to roadways as well as a mixture of sand and magnesium chloride to aid in the rapid melting of any ice accumulation.

  • For statewide roadway conditions, go to http://www.txdot.gov or you may call 1-800-452-9292. Stranded motorists should call the Texas Department of Public Safety at 1-800-525-5555. Dallas Courtesy Patrol – 214-320-4444.
