Tempe, Az., Dec. 9, 2009-NIVISYS Industries is proud to announce their NVAG-6 night vision goggles were picked by Rotor & Wing Magazine as one of the Top Ten Aviation Gear Safety choices for 2009.
Rotor & Wing notes that first responder flight accident rates increase when darkness falls.
Considering there are fewer aircraft operating at night than in day, the nighttime 49-percent of first responder crashes represents a real need for safer dark time flying. NIVISYS Industries of Tempe Arizona has provided the first FAA approved solution.
"We are incredibly proud of developing the first and only night vision goggles to pass the FAA's stringent approval procedure, and being picked by Rotor & Wing as one of the top ten safety gear choices for 2009 is an added bonus."--NIVISYS Sales Manager, Rob Lowe.
2008 and early 2009 were such bad times for crashes involving emergency first responder aircraft that in February of 2009 the NTSB held hearings in Washington D.C. on the problem.
The NTSB hearings pointed out that aside from the tragic loss of life, injuries, and the destruction of expensive specialized aircraft, that the aircrews are made up of highly-trained pilots and medical personnel that take years to train.
NIVISYS Industries produces the first and only FAA approved night vision goggles. The goggles resemble small binoculars (helps benefit depth of field vision). The goggles can be easily mounted on flight helmets allowing for safe low-light and nighttime aircraft operation.
Light-in-weight, compact and carefully designed for ease of use by pilots busy with other chores, they can function for over 40-hours on just two simple AA alkaline batteries.
