WAXAHACHIE – Graduates and their families will have to pay a $5 parking fee in May to Pastor T.D. Jakes’ church, The Potter’s House, on top of the $25,000 fee Waxahachie school board trustees paid for the use of the facility.
WISD Public Relations Director Nicole Mansell said the $5 parking fee is a requirement for The Potter’s House, which is situated across from Dallas Baptist University off of Spur 408 in Southwest Dallas County.
School board trustees said they could contain air horns in a closed environment as opposed to past graduations at 8,000-seat Lumpkins Stadium behind Waxahachie High School.
