ROCKETT – Thirty-year-old Crissy Blain, clerk for Ellis County/District Attorney Joe Grubbs was arrested in the early morning of Oct. 31, charged aggravated assault.
"She is no longer an employee in my office," said Grubbs.
Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Farm to Market Road 813 near Rockett.
Upon arrival deputies found a man, whose identity is not being released at this time, that had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Exxon Tote-A-Way Store.
Through witness statements, the ECSO deputies learned the man had been struck by a vehicle and were able to identify the driver that hit the victim as Blain.
After speaking with witnesses at the scene, deputies arrested Blain and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.
"A special prosecutor will be coming in to handle this case most likely with another D.A. evaluation which, isn’t unusual in these type of cases," said Grubbs.
Blain was released on a $25,000 bond set by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Jackie Miller Jr. The victim remains in critical condition at a Dallas area hospital.
