Join Meals-on-Wheels for Kitchen Campaign Event!

Meals-on-Wheels and Lone Oak Winery cordially invite you to an evening of fun, food & festivities!  Please join us (and bring a friend) at Lone Oak Winery located at 2116 FM 731 in Burleson on Friday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Cost to attend is $25 per couple or $15 per person.  Entry fee includes three wine pairings and entertainment by Hyry & Sullivan. You may register online at www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org, or reserve your place by contacting the Meals-on-Wheels’ offices. 

 
The Lone Oak Winery Kitchen Campaign event is being completely underwritten by Lone Oak Winery, Cabot Vermont Cheeses, and the Black Tie Bakery.  All proceeds of the event benefits the Meals-on-Wheels Kitchen Campaign to build a new, regional kitchen that will serve all of Johnson and Ellis Counties.  

Meals-on-Wheels plans to build a 16,000 square foot building where it can begin to cook and prepare meals for the homebound elderly and disabled citizens in its two-county service area.  It is expected that Meals-on-Wheels will initially provide 1,100 meals at the projected opening of the facility in 2011. Meals-on-Wheels plans to raise $3 million dollars for the facility’s construction. The Campaign, to date, has raised over $900,000 for this project. 

“With events like this one and the support of our wonderful donors, we will make the building the kitchen a reality,” Vinsen Faris, executive director said.  "Having our own kitchen is an incredible opportunity for us, as it will solidify our future, and allow us to better serve those who need services,” he added.
