Special council election Nov. 3

MIDLOTHIAN - Councilman Dusty Fryer’s resignation was accepted by the council last Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Fryer, whose main reason for retiring was to spend more time with his family, lived outside the district as well.
To fill his vacant position, the city is holding a special election Nov. 3.
According to Lou James-on, city secretary, filing began Aug. 25 and runs through Oct. 5 with write-in candidate filing through October 13.
Early voting begins Oct. 19 on weekdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. through Oct. 30.
Election day is 7 a.m.-7 p.m. with all voting being held at the Midlothian Conference Center, 1 Community Center Circle.
Bill Redding is currently the only candidate that has filed.
