Congressman Barton changes meetings
WASHINGTON - Rep. Joe Barton (R-Arlington/Ennis)
is moving his Arlington and Mansfield town hall meetings to larger venues
to accommodate the expected crowds. He also announced Tuesday that he
will take part in a “health care solutions” forum on August 31st
in Richardson with Reps. Sam Johnson and Pete Sessions. The public is
invited to both events.
The Congressman decided to change the
location of the Arlington and Mansfield events after more than 1,000
people showed up for town halls Monday in the small cities of Lovelady
and Marquez.
The Arlington town hall will now take
place at the Arlington Music Hall (Home of Johnnie High's Country Music
Revue), 224 North Center Street, which is just a block away from the
original location of Arlington City Hall.
The Mansfield town hall will now take
place at the Willie Pigg Auditorium, 1520 North Walnut Creek Drive,
which is about three miles from the original location of Mansfield City
Hall.
The start times for both meetings will
remain 6 p.m.
On Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.,
Congressmen Barton will join Sam Johnson (3rd Dist.-Texas) and Pete
Sessions (32nd Dist.-Texas) to host a congressional field hearing on
healthcare solutions at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. The
free event will be open to the public and the media. There will be parking
but people are encouraged to take DART.
