The Ellis County Press is proud to announce the recent promotion of Tim O’Connor as Single-copy Sales Manager.
The position plays a vital role in print journalism, by ensuring and maintaining the amount of papers distributed to each vendor.
"Tim O’Connor brings to The Press many skills, expertise and initiative to help us achieve long-term goals of providing copies of papers in new areas" said Charles D. Hatfield Jr., publisher of ECP.
O’Connor was born in Detroit, Mich. and raised in Longview.
He is a graduate of Judson High School and obtained a degree in Printing Management from Sam Houston State University.
After serving four years in the United States Marines, O’Connor received Honorable Discharge in 1965. He also served one tour in Vietnam.
O’Connor spent part of his life as an actor, working six years on the tv series, "Dallas." He was the arresting U.S. Marshall during the J.R. shooting series.
His airborne outfit was used to shot jump scenes in the film "In Harms Way" with actor John Wayne.
He has also coached soccer for St. Johns High School and other various teams in the Dallas area.
O’Connor lives in Red Oak with his wife and has seven children and is a Warrant Officer in the Texas Civil Defense.
