6 lbs. of Marijuana seized

RED OAK – While conducting routine traffic enforcement on Southbound Interstate Highway 35, Officer Bragg of Red Oak Police Department, stopped a white Ford Crown Victoria for a traffic violation Friday, June 19, uncovering nearly six pounds of marijuana in the process.
While pulled over, Officer Bragg smelled marijuana emitting from the passenger compartment and called for assistance.
The Driver admitted to possession of the substance while removing a small plastic bag from his pants pocket and handing it over.
When ROPD Officer Epps arrived on scene, Officer Bragg removed the extra passengers in the front and rear seats.
Conducting his search, Officer Bragg found six pounds of marijuana in 10 individual one gallon zip lock bags hidden in the vehicle’s trunk underneath some clothing.
All three individuals were arrested for possession of marijuana over five pounds, under 50 pounds. At the time of arrest the rear passenger advised Officer Epps he had a bottle of Mrthylenedioxy Methamphetamine ( MDMA, MDM, Ecstasy) pills in the crouch of his pants.
The bottle contained 4.9 grams of ecstasy.
Damion Marrquee Gunther, 26, of Dallas and Caus Kenard Frazier,22, of Lancaster were charged with possession of marijuana and arraigned by Judge Kurth with bond set at $25,000 each.
Larry Junior Burnett ,21, of Irving , was charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds, under 50 pounds and Manufacture/Delivery of a controlled substance. Burnett was also arraigned by Judge Kurth with his bonds set at $25,000 and $200,000.
In the State of Texas, if convicted, delivery of six pounds of marijuana is a second degree felony with two to 20 years in prison.
