OAK LEAF – The City of Oak Leaf is making an effort to have all its residents this summer reduce peak demand charges on their electric bills this summer.
As a community, avoiding peak demand between the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. should help everyone enjoy a little relief next year.
Peak electricity usage last summer caused demand charges each month to exceed a half a million dollars before a single kwh was used.
“This summer, the city would like to reduce to the peak demand through thoughtful use so everyone may have a full year of monthly savings on wholesale power costs,” stated the city.
