Summer jobs for 14-24 year olds available

Arlington – Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas is seeking applications for its Summer Jobs Program, which is funded through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.

All individuals, between the ages of 14 and 24, are encouraged to apply for the program (some eligibility requirements apply).

Individuals selected for this program will be employed with a business or community organization and will spend the summer gaining valuable job readiness skills.

Veterans and their spouses are especially encouraged to apply for this program.

ARRA funding for the Summer Jobs Program is aiming to allow youth and young adults to enter the workforce and gain the necessary skills to advance their future careers. Additionally, the program may be able to assist individuals with certain needs while working, such as transportation costs and child care.

In partnership with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas serves as the local workforce board for Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties. With a budget of more than $50 million, the board’s primary goal is to meet the needs of Texas employers through locally designed, market-driven workforce development initiatives and services.

All employers, workers and job seekers are eligible to take advantage of these services.
