Waxahachie – Friday, May 22, district officials will conduct an Emergency Operations Drill at Waxahachie High School.
This effort will be conducted to test the strength of the district’s Emergency Operations Plan and help determine areas in which improvements are needed in the event of an emergency.
The district plans to work alongside the Waxahachie Police Department, Waxahachie Fire Department, Baylor Medical Center and emergency medical technicians to ensure that the drill runs smoothly.
"The test will determine what we are doing well, what we need to improve upon, etc. to make our plan even better," said Nicole Mansell, public relations director for WISD.
WISD officials are in the process of notifying all WHS parents to inform the community of the event to not cause concern the day of the drill.
