Parks School House Road to close

Beginning Wednesday, May 20, the intersection of Peters Street and Parks School House Road will be closed as part of the Broadhead Road expansion project. The closure is anticipated to last for up to one month, depending on weather and availability of materials.

“Peters Street will remain open to the Lexington Arms subdivision, with the intersection being closed just after, ” said Amy Hollywood, community relations manager. “Closing this intersection is necessary to complete the concrete work on that section of Parks School House Road. This part of the project will take up to one month to complete,” said Hollywood.

All motorists coming to and from the Clift Middle School may access Parks School House Road from the Highway 287 bypass, and Business 287. When completed, the road will be a four lane concrete roadway complete with a median and turning lanes. The expansion will extend Parks School House Road west to meet Business 287.  The project is approximately 60 percent complete, with a targeted completion date of November 2009.

For questions regarding the Parks School House Road expansion, please contact the City of Waxahachie at 972-937-7330, extension 284.
