FERRIS - Residents will soon face an increase on their water bill.

During Monday evenings council meeting, Public Works Director Charlie Joe James said it has been three years since their last rate increase.

Place 5 Councilwoman Carol Wright, questioned how the city compared on rates with neighboring cities in the county.

"[We would be] in the middle but we charge a lot less on the hook up charge," said James.

Place 3 Councilman Bill Pardue, suggested him and James discuss the numbers and get back together for an action item next council meeting.

In other business, a unanimous vote approved retail zoning all up S. Central Ave.

During executive session Pat Bradley, city secretary, was up for her annual review.

Once everyone reconvened the meeting adjourned with Pardue declaring no business needs to be taken from the executive session.

"We are very pleased with our city secretary and expressed that one and all."
