WAXAHACHIE -Thursday, April 16, at around 2:25 p.m. Waxahachie High School was threatened with a bomb.

In less than 24 hours at 8:25 a.m. Friday, April 17, a suspicious phone call was received by WHS with a second threat.

All students were then transported to the Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy gym and closely supervised by WHS staff.

Waxahachie Police were immediately dispatched with bomb sniffing canines in tow.

By 11:45 a.m. the high school was deemed safe for re-entry.

"As always, the safety and security of our students is the district’s number one priority," said Nicole Mansell, public relations director for WISD.
