Reaction to Bushs appointment

WAXAHACHIE - Ellis County Commissioners voted Wednesday morning to appoint Carol Bush as
the new county judge.
Before the vote, Congressman Joe Barton (R-Ennis) spoke to commissioners and the gathered crowd to express his support for Mrs. Bush. Afterward, he released the following statement:
“I would like to congratulate the new Ellis County Judge, Carol Bush. She is a long time
resident of the county who has served many roles – from lawyer and court judge to volunteer and
children’s advocate. I think these experiences make her uniquely qualified to lead Ellis County.
I know she will lean on her education, professional experience and spirit of community as she
embarks on this new challenge.
I think commissioners did their due diligence by reviewing the qualifications and resumes of
several candidates. It was only after careful consideration that they decided on Mrs. Bush.
I wish her luck and will support her in every possible way. I look forward to working with her as
we strive together to improve the lives of people living in Ellis County.”
