WILMER - Police have no leads on the random acts of vandalization that occurred at the Trinity Cemetery this past weekend.
"We [Wilmer Police Department] don’t really know what time or day the cemetery was vandalized, all we know is it happened sometime over the weekend," said Robert Wells, chief of police.
Many gravestones were pushed over, cracked and moved throughout various places in the cemetery.
"After a while the concrete starts to get old and disintegrate, they [unknown suspects] knocked over some pretty old markers," said Wells.
Police plan to stand watch over the cemetery during the week to make sure nothing else happens. Anyone with information regarding these acts are urged to contact the police department at (927) 441-6371.
"If anyone contacts us with any information they will remain anonymous," said Wells.
