Student to file for school board post
WAXAHACHIE – Kevin Crouch of Waxahachie will file this afternoon for placement on the ballot for the WISD School Board.
Crouch, now 17, will turn 18 and fulfill the election requirements on April 8 (Required to be age 18, registered to vote and a resident of WISD to be
"I’m running this campaign to bring a new perspective to the school board," Crouch said, "because it’s the students who experience and must follow the rules that the board votes on. "Ultimately, the students should be the top concern and someone who understands their perspective has a rightful place on the Board of Trustees."
Crouch also said he plans, if elected, to meet frequently with Waxahachie students to check up on the success or lack thereof of decisions made by the board that result in additional rules or changes at WISD campuses.
The election will be held on Saturday, May 9. President Dr. Joe Langley, Secretary Mark Price, and Member John Colwell are up for reelection this year.
Voters must be residents of the Waxahachie Independent Sch-ool District to vote on school board candidates.
