Homeowner shoots suspected burglar

FERRIS – According to reports made to CBS 11, on Saturday, Feb. 7, a home on Newton Road was burglarized.

Homeowner Kevin Hamm, returned in his car and interrupted two burglery suspects.  

The suspects were driving a stolen white-colored Chevrolet Suburban when they crashed into Hamm’s car as well as the car his daughter was driving.

The suspects attempted to flee the scene when Hamm, armed with a rifle, fired at the suspects.

The suspect driving a stolen truck was shot and the other suspect ran from the scene on foot.

On Saturday evening, the driver was in critical condition at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas and the other suspect, not believed to be injured, has yet to be found.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, the daughter was not harmed.

Hamm could not be reached for comment as of press time.
