Palmer ISD posts check register, Midlothian ISD budget wont grow past population, inflation

Americans For Prosperity-Texas shared the Palmer ISD news in their latest newsletter:

Transparency...it's easy to shed light in Texas

Palmer ISD tax rate just went up by approximately $130 on a $100,000 home. What for? Alan R. Oakley, superintendent of schools for the Palmer Independent School District, announced that the monthly check register for the District will be posted on the District Web site effective Nov. 3. The first month posted will be the September '08 register.

Oakley stated “This is public money and the public has the right to know to whom and how much is being spent.”
