Glenn Heights- Stephen Pape, former mayor of Glenn Heights just won the district 1 board position for Hill County Electric Cooperative Inc. Defeating Jim Perkins, who is a member/owner of HILCO for over thirty years and was seeking to fulfill a full term after serving the remainder of Kyle Cross'.
Perkins, after multiple attempts, refused to answer any questions regarding the alleged corruption going on with it's board members finally saying " I'm not allow to speak with you."
Pape, carried out a successful campaign wanting the board to be more open about what they are doing with it's members and the public alike including working with the board to have it's board minutes posted on their web site.
District 1 serves the areas of Glenn Heights, Ovilla, Midlothian, Oak Leaf ( Perkins' hometown) Lancaster and Desoto.
Final vote totals will be posted as soon as they become available.
