Sealed records

An open records request to the City of Bardwell on April 7 has still been unfulfilled, despite repeated attempts by the state Attorney General’s office demanding the release of public information to The Ellis County Press.

Filed earlier this year, state law requires governmental entities to respond within 10 days, which Bardwell Mayor P.W. Gentry, who appointed himself city secretary several weeks ago, has not done.
