Avalons school board election set for Nov. 4

AVALON- Unlike many other school districts who held their school board elections this past May, Avalon’s will be taking place on the Nov. 4 general elections.

"Unincorporated communities such as ours can only vote in November and only on even-numbered years for school board positions." said Superintendent David Bosque.

So far, only Harrison Romero, David Arriaga and Judy Downe have signed up for election. The last day to sign up for the school board is Aug. 26.

Early voting will take place from Sept. 24-Oct.7 at the Avalon elementary library located at 104 FM 55, between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Last day to receive ballots by mail is Oct. 3.
