Bardwell hires Rodney Ramsey municipal judge

Bardwell – Rodney Pat Ramsey, a Waxahachie defense attorney and a Republican challenger in the county/district attorney’s race, was hired as the municipal judge on a contract not to exceed $300 per hearing.

Ramsey said he would wait for the city’s formal offer before spelling out what changes would be needed to get Bardwell’s municipal court back up and running.

The city has been without a judge and court since last summer, but The Ellis County Press uncovered numerous instances in which Mayor P.W. "Jinker" Gentry was collecting fines and fees off of traffic citations written by illegally-appointed reserve officers.
