4 juveniles held in burglary
Phillip Mark Prasifka, Chief of Police
On Thursday, May 22, 2008, at approximately 12:44 p.m. the Glenn Heights Police Department received a call regarding suspicious persons near a residence in the 200 block of Tulane, Dallas County, Glenn Heights, Texas.
A responding Officer saw one person in the area who ran and jumped a fence near Tulane and Auburn Way when he saw the Officer.
A witness had confirmed that there was more than one suspicious person at the residence. A search of the immediate neighborhood was conducted. Due to the proximity of a local elementary school, and through coordination with representatives from the school, it was decided to briefly lock down the school for the safety of the children.
Subsequently, four males were located and detained at a residence in the 1600 block of Auburn Way. The on scene investigation revealed that a home in the 200 block of Tulane had been burglarized, within yards of the home on Auburn Way.
These males were all under that age of seventeen. A search of the home on Auburn Way resulted in the recovery of stolen property that linked to the males to the burglary on Tulane as well as other residential burglaries. All four juvenile males were taken into custody and will be facing Burglary charges.
The local elementary school was locked down for approximately thirty minutes during this time and was cleared to open back up once the Officers had located and detained the four males.
This case remains under investigation of the Glenn Heights Police Department
