ECP, CBS team up
The Ellis County Press
ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Press and Dallas’ KTXT CBS-11 TV have partnered up to offer news on the paper’s website in exchange for an unprecedented exchange in ad revenue and news content.
CBS-11, along with sister station TXA Channel 21, are reaching out to local bloggers, social networking sites and newspapers to capture the increasing market for online news.
"It’s a win-win for us because we’ll make a cut in ad revenue, but it’s a boon for CBS because the news we cover in Ellis County will go well with a news station that is devoted to their investigative reports," said ECP Publisher Charles D. Hatfield Jr. "Our website will feature not only the CBS news feeds, but also Internet radio and soon, video reporting and a full-fledged message forum."
The CBS 11 / TXA 21 Local Ad Network already has received support from major advertisers such as the North Texas Honda Dealers.
"The CBS Local Ad Network again positions CBS 11, TXA 21 and our other stations across the country at the forefront of an unprecedented locally focused venture," said Jonathan Leess, president and general manager of CBS’ Digital Media Group.
"After first setting the standard for local news coverage online, our stations now lead the effort to engage other local sites – and we invite them to share in the revenue.
"The CBS Local Ad Network also opens up exciting new avenues for our advertising partners to efficiently extend their reach to valued local audiences while associating themselves with our CBS brands and content."
