CPS: Probation for sex crimes
WAXAHACHIE - Public record searches and interviews with local defense attorneys highlight the nature of some cases involving Child Protective Services which feature parents alleged to have committed sex crimes against their children, only to be placed on probation by County Attorney Joe Grubbs' office.
Cause No. 67,308-CCL
Suspect: Russell Gainus
Described as a 'severe' sexual assault case, Russell Gainus was charged with indecency with a child after allegedly abusing three children for 'years.'
Gainus had oral sex and intercourse with his two daughters; according to attorneys close to the case.
An archival search at the district clerk's office, stated Gainus made his son watch the alleged crimes.
Documents reveal Gainus, who received probation, passed around his daughters to others.
Cause No. 68,267-CCL
Suspects: John & Tanya Jones
Charges were dropped by Grubbs' office because they said 'they could not win the case.'
Court documents detail allegations that Tanya Jones, the mother, was involved in 'severe' sexual abuse of one of their daughters and John Jones, was also involved in the alleged sexual assault of their son.
